Mission
The D.C. Blue Devils basketball program provides grassroots opportunities to promote youth basketball in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, at the highest level of competition. Our coaches, and staff members are equally committed to providing quality coaching and skill development for our youth student-athletes to fulfill their dreams… Academically, Socially, and Athletically.

As a member of the Potomac Valley Athletic Amateur Union (PVAAU), we also obey the mission and vision of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)… "To offer amateur sports programs through a volunteer base for all people to have the physical, mental, and moral development of amateur athletes, and to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship. Through participation in AAU, we achieve our dreams as athletes and as valued citizens of our communities."

The Blue Devils ultimate measure of success is the number of youth that gain academic-athletic scholarships to college!

History
In 1983 Rob Jackson formed the first group of Blue Devils basketball players out of the Silver Spring Boys & Girls club. In the early 80's, with members mostly from the Silver Spring area, the team played in the Capital Beltway League. The Blue Devils were very successful winning over 100 games, Capital Beltway League titles, and various Tournament Championships. Coach's Rob Jackson and Henry Ridges formed the Silver Spring Blue Devils in 1986, and decided it was time to participate in the highest level of youth basketball, so we began playing in the PVAAU tournament championships. That dedication and effort built one of the most prestigious and respected youth men's basketball programs in the area, which culminated in winning the YBOA National Championship in 1990, and finishing in the AAU finals the following year in 1991.

With the success of the Silver Spring Blue Devils teams brought more interest from D.C, Maryland, and Virginia area. With the rise in popularity the program changed its name to Potomac Valley Blue Devils, and with the national recognition we have achieved, we are now name the D.C. Blue Devils. With the influx of youth members to the program, the volunteers initiated grassroots activities to support the youth and help them become world class citizens by developing services that will influence the live of the athletes that participate in our organization.

Since the inception of the 1983 season, over 1,600 student-athletes have competed on Blue Devils teams. The next two decades the Blue Devils have also produced over 105 Division One Players, 37 PVAAU Championships, 14 National Final Fours, and 6 National Championships. The 1997 season proved to be on of the most successful years in the history of the Blue Devils program. The program won an unprecedented 6 PVAAU (19&u, 14&u, 13&u, 12&u, and 11&u) Championship, with 4 teams finishing in the top twelve at the AAU Nationals, and the 10&u team winning the AAU National Championship. With this dominance, both regionally and nationally, the Blue Devils have been used as a measuring stick, by which other clubs gauge their own success. In 1997, the Blue Devils was ranked #1 boy's program in the nation.

Other select organizations have come and gone, but the Blue Devils Basketball program has continued to provide boys the Washington area with quality coaching and top-level competition to enhance their basketball skills for middle school, high school, college and beyond.

Additionally, the Blue Devils have been a proud member of the Nike grassroots family since 1995.
